Lives / TV Must Die" (1978), "Now Do You Believe The Dirty Dogs Are Dead" (1978), "An Idea Of Storage At A Small Gallery In Downtown Chicago" (1979), "Cry Baby!" (1977).B1. Sympathy For The Devil New Humans, 2007A song stripped leaving only the minimal register of anonymous static noise. A shadow of itself it now the resembles the crackling prelude on a vinyl record. The cue is the replacement.B2. Waiting Game New Humans, 2007The anticipatory humming drone produced by a guitar amp becomes substance. The performance of the void, a lost reference.Producing used Sunn Beta Lead head with Peavey 4x12 Cabinet and single coil American Fender Stratocaster.The sound pieces on Side B were an ongoing sound element in the "Disassociate" installation in which the performances and recordings occurred. On her latest release, chra aka Christina Nemec is sketching out a psychogeographical map, that guides you to the border of the internal and external world - ‘on a fateful morning’ lets you enter a sphere where the imaginary and the subliminal cross. Evoking abstract images that transcend reality, chra installs an autarchic time-and-space-continuum of vague, nocturnal beauty. Pastose bass drones, airy ambient synths and processed audio-samples form a hypnotic stream that lets you enter an altered state of mind. By subtly intertwining musical and non musical sounds chra is weaving an intensely atmospheric, poetic tableau of emptied spaces left to our imagination. It's the pulse of arcane memories that is filling these sonic landscapes, operating deep within our subconscious. ‘on a fateful morning’ is haunting music to play in the dark - conspirative, uncanny, with a dystopian smack.NM

M.E.S.H.: Hesaitix vinyl album on Pan from 2017, still sealedFurther departing from both the cinematic abstraction of ‘Piteous Gate’ and the hectic drums of ‘Damaged Merc’, Berlin producer M.E.S.H’s new full-length, ‘Hesaitix’, is marked by its hyper-ornamented rhythms and a sense of pensive, moonlit spaces. The atmosphere has shifted; the radical deconstruction of previous releases has given way to subtler interventions, building new structures in strange territories. Shifting from the meditative to states of manic unease, Hesaitix is an unnerving injection into both the social space of club music and the interior space of digital audio fantasy. How did I become so stupid? A sound can be both formless and over-rendered, like a boneless but fleshy hand from a life drawing class. What agent could set these broken sounds in motion? A laugh behind an evil curtain. A drummer that’s cool and grotesque, a detuned siren. A brushfire under a full moon. Recorded in Berlin and Umbria, Hesaitix sees Janus resident and PAN staple M.E.S.H. firmly engaged in a kind of sonic worldbuilding, a place where the unconscious and the alien intersect. Based in the Brazilian capital of São Paulo, the TORMENTA collective has long offered an alternative vision of the city's rich and colorful musical heritage. Operating as an ongoing series of DIY parties, creative agency and record label, TORMENTA has welcomed challenging sounds into São Paulo and released music from a cross section of Brazilian artists, including Fkoff1963, 177th & Digestivo. Their musical output is unrestrained: pop edits and unhinged hard dance rubs against errated heavy metal and lifted ambient drone. Anything's possible, as long as there's a social conscience and a middle finger to expectation.In 2019, TORMENTA put together a short film for the online edition of Nyege Nyege Festival. Since the crew is made up of obsessive horror movie fans, the direction was clear. "O Som do Labirinto" (The Labyrinth's Sound), is a terrifying and psychedelic audiovisual experience that's centered around a journalist attempting to examine a series of mysterious gatherings. Casting a side-eye to VICE's notorious series of fish out of water documentaries, the film drags its protagonist to hell through a series of grueling mental trials, all accompanied by TORMENTA's bloody toolbox of tortuous sounds.This full-length soundtrack finds the collective exposing their deep horror movie knowledge and finally flexing their film score muscle. The crew's ragged club DNA is still present, but mainlined into a Frankenstein's monster of John Carpenter synths, haunted piano loops and gruesome Lustmord-esque dark ambient drones. Alada's 'Running' straps a familiar hoover bass to bloodcurdling low-end rumbles and sparse, propulsive kicks; MTMA's 'O Pesadelo' sounds like broken clocks and music boxes at the "Evil Dead" cabin; 177th's 'Together' is a nightmarish beatless rave anthem that's like Lorenzo Senni on a bad trip; and Bruxax's 'Scream' is a full-on sludge metal freak-out that could sit alongside a Rob Zombie movie.The "O Som Do Labirinto OST" is Brazilian experimental club music in corpse paint holding a jack-o-lantern and weilding a bloody knife. Be afraid. NM copy from shop stocks. Shrink wrap is still on, but has been opened. Record may have been listened to once or twice at the store.

The sixth release in a series of six that came out 2000/2001 with Starfish Pool teaming up with other artists for one original track plus mixes, plus lock grooves. Used copy in great condition. Originally from 2001, first time in our shop!

Original 4x10" vinyl box set version of this 1995 production. All on clear vinyl. Used copy. Mostly excellent condition but some pops and clicks in the more quiet parts here and there. There are some fingerprints on some labels as well as, oddly, a footprint on one of the inner sleeves. Presumably the previous owner stepped on it while spinning the record as no such damage on any of the vinyl. The box itself has some wear with the two sides lightly inward bent. Overall still a great copy.
Second hand VG+. Mostly in excellent condition, but a few clicks and pops in some of the quiet parts. Sleeve has a faint hint at ring wear, but no damage.
