341 | Asyl & Politik Road to Nowhere Die vor Lampedusa unter Aufsicht der EU ertrunkenen Bootsflüchtlinge führen es vor Augen: Heutige Asylpolitik ist de facto eine proaktive Asylverhinderungspolitik. Es geht um die Abwehr und Abschreckung von Asylsuchenden, unge-achtet der konkreten Gründe ihrer Flucht. Unzählige Beispiele zeugen von Rassismus gegenüber Geflüchteten – weltweit. Dabei ist das Recht auf Asyl eines der fundamentalen Menschenrechte, die nach 1945 im Rahmen der UN näher bestimmt wurden. Doch nicht nur in Europa wird Flüchtlingen durch Gesetzesänderungen und Verwaltungsvorschriften systematisch die Möglichkeit genommen, Asyl in Anspruch zu nehmen. Unser Themenschwerpunkt will diese Entwicklung genauer in den Blick nehmen. Die Geflüchteten werden dabei nicht auf einen Opferstatus reduziert. Die kämpferischen Bewegungen der Refugees zeigen, dass Geflüchtete sich als handelnde Subjekte verstehen. Der Themenschwerpunkt entstand in enger Zusammenarbeit der Redaktionen von Hinterland und iz3w, die ansonsten unabhängig voneinander arbeiten, jedoch die Empörung über die europäische Asylpolitik teilen.
