The collection of articles offers a socialist point of view about some recent developments and events which occured in France in the fifteen years 2002-2017. It does not pretend to give a detailed account of all the problems recently debated in the Hexagon, just some hints to get rid of a few political clichés which dominate the revolutionary Left. Limits of anti-Zionism * The Hijab and the Left * 150 years on immigration * Secularism * "Citoyennisme"? Fatal attraction * Tariq Ramadan * The sad farce of the "no victory" * "Dancing with the wolves" - the riots in France * "The Republic's Natives", the debate about French colonialism and its consequnces * French working class, migrants, racism and the building of French national ideology * Trotskyists, neo-Trotskyists and dinosaurs * Charlie Hebdo, "Muslims", and how to defend freedom of expression (2012) * Left anti-Semitism * The National Front and its influence among French workers * Anti-Semitism and anti-Muslim racism... and more! Now available again: Datacide Eleven, originally from 2011. datacide eleven originally appeared in February 2011, a little bit over two years after the predecessor issue which had been published in October 2008 and had been accompanied with a conference in Berlin. Issue eleven contains some of the papers presented at the 2008 conference (those of John Eden, Stewart Home and Alexis Wolton) as well as then-new material. Between the two issues was the launch of a new datacide web site (then part of the c8 orbit, now to be found at https://datacide-magazine.com) and a number of other activities, largely event-based, both musical and in the form of talks, sometimes as a combination of the two. datacide eleven itself was launched with a number of talks taking place over two days at Cagliostro, the bar and meeting point at Ostkreuz - then also the location of the Praxis store - and a party taking place at Subversiv with Kovert, Baseck, DJ Balli, Cannibal Brothers, Nemeton, LT and Christoph Fringeli. For this 2022 reprint the issue was carefully re-edited which chiefly concerned formatting issues. None of the content has been altered besides obvious typos and mistakes, but the layout had to be adjusted to the bound rather than stapled finish, and to take advantage of the colour (inside) cover and to give a bit more space to some articles a total of four pages were added. A new back page image was provided by Luke Hekate.

Swedish disruptors SHXCXCHCXSH return to Avian.Following on from 2018’s SHULULULU EP, the duo are back channeling their sound-design focused experimentalism into a brace of characteristically high energy recordings. Melding contemporary explorations in rhythm and texture with more traditional club tropes, Kongestion places recognizable leitmotif’s from the dance music continuum in the context of the pair’s inimitable production prowessA1 Kong and follow up Onge offer two takes on a similar template that marry a stepping kick drum pattern with dense, ever-shifting granules of processed white noise. The mentasm sample, that will become a recognizable device across the EP’s course, provides it’s own twisted energy – front and center on the former, and sunk – but no less effective, on the latter. With Nges SHXCXCHCXSH draw on their beatless material for inspiration, inviting a more musical sensibility into the work. What begins life as a staccato, monotonal recording develops slowly and organically into an emotive patchwork piece – drawing on the mentasm, but this time twisting it further and introducing a bassline and shuffling hats. Relentless rhythm track Gest follows – a dense, thorny construction that segues neatly into Esti, another more caustic composition that places it’s focus on intricate, delay-driven sound design with ghostly lead tones that operate just below the surface. As the record approaches it’s close, the duo showcase their range with Stio – a pulsing, meditative ambient cut. Final track Tion wraps up the EP neatly, acting as a fulcrum for the themes explored so far. Bending the mentasms into a hook, the artists create a wall of undulating sound, broken by sporadic kick drum hits and propelled forward with percussive strikes that run through the track before dissolving into soft reverb tails.

Last copy, very light storage wear, hence slightly reduced price. Label info: Perc returns to Perc Trax with an EP that takes the controlled chaos of his DJ sets as inspiration for three tracks that have their sights set firmly on the dance floor. 'Greed Dance' is Perc's first full EP in 14 months, following 'Fire In Negative' on Perc Trax back in September 2020. Since then Perc has pushed through lockdown with an intense production regime resulting in tracks being signed to Lebendig, Possession, RAW and Rote Sonne, as well as this EP for Perc Trax. Originally started at Christmas last year, lead track 'Greed Dance' started life as an anger fuelled full vocal track aimed squarely at the hypocrisy of certain sections of the dance music industry, but over time has been stripped down to a tight rhythm track with sparse vocal elements reflecting a change of mood as the UK's clubs and events were finally allowed to open again this summer. B1 'Resistor' takes a similar approach as previous Perc release 'Toxic NRG', looking to squeeze maximum dance floor drama out of a small group of continually tweaked sounds. Finally B2 track '240 Volts' layers rapid fire organ arpeggios over a rock solid kick & bass foundation to create something fresh for both Perc and techno in general. released November 12, 2021 <iframe style="border: 0; width: 560px; height: 435px;" src="https://bandcamp.com/VideoEmbed?track=647539830&bgcol=333333&linkcol=e32c14" mozallowfullscreen="1" webkitallowfullscreen="1" allowfullscreen="1" seamless></iframe>

Label info:Albert van Abbe & Jochem Paap join forces for General Audio.Recorded at Willem Twee studios in Den Bosch, General Audio explores a unique and esoteric approach to sound creation. Using test and measure equipment from the 1950’s, originally designed for the maintenance of various audio and radio transmitters, van Abbe and Paap create otherworldly walls of sound and dense rhythmic abstractions with an early form of synthesis. Rudimentary signals are combined and processed before being committed to tape via mic’s set up to capture the Willem Twee studio’s unique acoustics. The equipment itself predates the invention of the analog, modular synthesizers developed in the 70’s that are now commonplace in many studios. The record opens with 220Lock-in, a gently undulating drone composition. Effervescent at the top end and fathoms deep at the bottom, it shifts ominously with ring modulated tones that build and then give way to thick washes of white noise. A single synth flourish provides a surprising final moment. The record continues with WZ-1Wobbel Zusatz, a low-sunk percussive piece with an off-kilter rhythm and wet spring reverb doing the bulk of the sonic heavy lifting. Deep in the mix, delicate shifts in pitch and tone deliver a kind of arcane musicality, and as the recording approaches its final moments the piece descends into an exhilarating chaos, with sonic components falling slowly by the wayside. Pegelmesser riffs on a similar reverb characteristic, but this time a driven, arp-like lead propels the work forward. Crisp shifts in colour and distortion arrive unexpectedly, providing a curious musical sensation once more – and harsher moments of feedback break up the recording in its later stages. On Rel 3L 212c LC-pi the pair strip things back, with more present percussive components and subtle distortion lines, before Wandel ups the ante with a corrosive dirge broken up by sporadic submerged synth hits. The penultimate recording SR 250 Boxcar Averager shows off impressive pitch modulation, resulting in a variety of intriguing sensations. Cinematic and remarkably visual, it charts a strange and affecting course, the synth lead underpinned by a repetitive percussive motif and all manner of sends delivering fascinating details. Nim Bin closes the record and once more van Abbe and Paap invite that subtle musicality into the recording. A tight VCO modulation drives the piece while various percussive synth strikes provide a kind of rhythmic component, though they remain untethered to any time signature – a neat conclusion to an intriguing and exploratory record. released September 23, 2022Written and Produced by Albert Van Abbe & Jochem PaapMastered by Neel @ Enisslab, RomeArtwork & Design by Atact.uk© Avian 2022

47 revisits German artist OAKE’s seminal track “Paysage Dépaysé” in a special remix EP. OAKE have established themselves as flagbearers for dark electronica in the years pursuant to their EP on Downwards in 2015, making cinematic dance music for imprints across the experimental-industrial axis—including a solo effort on 47 in 2019. After a series of standout early releases, the artists put out one of their canon-defining tracks, “Paysage Dépaysé,” as part of the Monad XXIV EP for Stroboscopic Artefacts. Now, it receives the remix treatment on 47029 with three dynamic and radically divergent approaches to OAKE’s atmospheric and deeply melancholic inaugural work, which will be pressed to vinyl for the first time. The newly remastered original song is a post-industrial dirge that weaves OAKE singer Konstanze Bathseba Zippora’s otherworldly vocals over a noisy mothswarm of electronics, but label veteran Killawatt revs the first version’s subdued threnody up to a dance floor-friendly techstepper. On the B-Side, remixer Lemna uses a more restrained style, enshrouding the instrumentals under a martial sashay of tribal breakbeats, while 47 newcomer Quelza brings the collection to a ruminative close by bending and breaking Zippora’s virtuosic solo through a latticework of glitched-out synths and percussive stabs. The entire package will be available for purchase on June 24th, 2022. <iframe style="border: 0; width: 100%; height: 120px;" src="https://bandcamp.com/EmbeddedPlayer/album=4118195267/size=large/bgcol=333333/linkcol=e32c14/tracklist=false/artwork=small/transparent=true/" seamless><a href="https://47x47.bandcamp.com/album/47029">47029 by Oake</a></iframe>

"Beim Wechsel zwischen osteuropäischer Vergangenheit und westlicher GEgenwar kam mir manchmal die Vermutung, daß die Menschen sich heute lediglich einreden, für das plurale Zusammenleben besonders gut gewappnet zu sein, daß sie es aber dann, wenn sioe sich ihm in der Wirklichkeit aussetzen, gar nicht aushalten.!
