Who we are:
Praxis is a label dedicated to experimental hardcore and radical breaks which was founded in 1992 in London. The first two 12" records came out at the end of that year, the Scaremonger EP and 'Knee-Jerk Reaction' by Bourbonese Qualk. These contributed to and commented on the rising techno and rave scene, coming from a background of experimental post punk and industrial music. Soon the label expanded and explored experimental hardcore, electronic weirdness, breakcore, speedcore and noise.
Since then there has been a steady stream of releases and activities, which we continue today and into the future from our base in Berlin. We have many many plans for this year, for releases as well as live events, as well as for publishing activities that go well beyond those of a 'record label'.
This shop is the primary outlet for traditional-format releases by the label, its associates and the wider network we are involved with as well as other items and productions of experimental electronic music and radical literature. This includes many exclusive titles and limited editions.
To find out more about the label's history, check out the 10th episode of The Molehill Report on our YouTube channel 'Noise & Politics' (click on the image below)
If you are a reseller (record store, book shop, online store, distributor etc.) please open a company account. We will then activate your B2B merchant account.

SUMONE is back with his second release on Sprengstoff Recordings. Leaving the Ragga Jungle behind he is focusing now on the dark side of the jungle. Time-stretched vocals meet melancholic synth pads on Side A "Making the best of a bad situation". The second side of the record creates with "Zombie" a spooky atmosphere with a bell sound playing a frightening melody straight from a 1950s horror movie. It´s midnight on the dancefloor of the undead! Avoiding the classical trap of Post-Jungle trying to imitate clean and overproduced Drum´n Bass, SUMONE keeps the production dirty and the drum sounds pretty rough. The sounds on this record breath the air of parties in dark, narrow basements. But you still can hear the Jungle origins in the beat programming. The beats are full of frenetic, fevered energy pushing the tracks forward with their constantly changing structures. These advanced drum edits deconstruct the original sequences of the breakbeats. On the other hand the Amen break is not in the center of the tracks any more. No longer Jungle, but still not Drum´n Bass – SUMONE left the old style categories to experiment with new musical elements. Most noticeably it is the use of atmospheric sounds that can also be found in progressive Dubstep productions like the ones from INNASEKT. Or to put it simple: energy-driven jungle beats, dark atmospheres and a melancholic vibe. check out MP3’s here: http://www.sprengstoff-recordings.com/spreng15.htm

The long awaited return of America's splinter break master- THE SILVER KEY EP on Zhark International A three tracker of ultra tightly edited and produced pummeling against layers of haunting ambience. His compostions showing a new maturity in streamlined elegance.

Out now on Darkmatter Soundsystem, the same people who brought you the dancefloor killing ADC - "Giammarco Fratocchi E.P." , bring you "Bored In The U.S.A." by Minion. A 12" full of Electro - Gabber - DNB - Breakcore - Grime - Dubstep and a little bit of everything else thrown into the blender with emphasis on all things core. The outcome is one of the roughest records to come out of Los Angeles in quite some time. Sure to give any set of speakers a work out. Great for those who like their bass served extra thick and their snares ultra sharp.

An appetizer to Raoul Sinier (formerly known as "Ra") 's third studio album "Brain Kitchen" (to come on Ad Noiseam in 2008), "Huge Samurai Radish" sees this multi talented artist present a new menu of his gritty, catchy and personal electronic hip hop, as well as lend the knife to La Caution, Vast Aire (of Cannibal Ox fame), Wisp, Datach'I and Lynx & Ram for five spicy remixes. Tasty and highly addictive.

"Most Essential Break Beats for DJ's" from 1991 in VG condition! Some surface marks on the vinyl, sleeve is worn. Plays perfectly fine. Ideal second copy for mixing!
