Label info:  Mark Boombastik is a human beatbox with advanced technics. Early in his career, he added guitar effects and bass synths to his live sets to push his vocal art to a new level. Mark Boombastik is mostly known for his astonishing crossover pop-song “Putzen” which was licensed for german TV shows among other crazy things. Through this novelty hit he caught the attention of the Berlin record label Shitkatapult for which he produced the long-player “Adios Berlin” together with Eduardo Delgado-Lopez. Lesser known but extremely sought after are his releases on Meeuw Muzak and Gagarin Records. With Gagarin Records chairman Felix Kubin he did countless live and studio collaborations. After a brief release-hiatus, this 7″ on Sozialistischer Plattenbau presents two recent tracks. 47 revisits German artist OAKE’s seminal track “Paysage Dépaysé” in a special remix EP.   OAKE have established themselves as flagbearers for dark electronica in the years pursuant to their EP on Downwards in 2015, making cinematic dance music for imprints across the experimental-industrial axis—including a solo effort on 47 in 2019. After a series of standout early releases, the artists put out one of their canon-defining tracks, “Paysage Dépaysé,” as part of the Monad XXIV EP for Stroboscopic Artefacts. Now, it receives the remix treatment on 47029 with three dynamic and radically divergent approaches to OAKE’s atmospheric and deeply melancholic inaugural work, which will be pressed to vinyl for the first time.   The newly remastered original song is a post-industrial dirge that weaves OAKE singer Konstanze Bathseba Zippora’s otherworldly vocals over a noisy mothswarm of electronics, but label veteran Killawatt revs the first version’s subdued threnody up to a dance floor-friendly techstepper. On the B-Side, remixer Lemna uses a more restrained style, enshrouding the instrumentals under a martial sashay of tribal breakbeats, while 47 newcomer Quelza brings the collection to a ruminative close by bending and breaking Zippora’s virtuosic solo through a latticework of glitched-out synths and percussive stabs. Before making his name in industrial hardcore, Celsius was a jungle DJ and MC. Born and raised in Switzerland to an English family, he would spend every summer in the UK as a teenager, soaking up the emerging sounds of UK rave, collecting jungle and happy hardcore records, and recording mixtapes from UK pirate radio stations. This was 1992, the year zero for Celsius. Performing as DJ Celsius as early as 1993, he became one of Switzerland's first jungle DJs, playing and hosting mostly illegal raves in Lausanne – all before the age of 18. Turntablism and MCing soon followed. Celsius' earliest productions featured samples of old hardcore tapes from the UK and the Netherlands. Now, 30 years and several musical identities later, Celsius is circling back to his roots with 1992: a breakbeat rave concept album exploring the the genesis of hardcore, written with '90s analog recording equipment for that genuine time capsule experience. This is a copy in excellent condition of the limited "DJ Promo" pre-release of the second Praxis record. Hand stamped white labels. Summer 1992! Important note: On some turntables the track Take Control may jump. This is in the pressing and is hence the case for all copies of this pressing. As a consequence the record was re-cut at the time (1992) and the release copies (with labels) have a slightly different sound (and don't jump on the A2 track). We're offering this from the Praxis archives "as is". Besides the pressing flaw (which may not be evident, depending on your turntable), the record is in excellent condition.
