sozialistischer plattenbau goes on with its exploring of modernists urban dub sounds with the WE BOMB FI DUBS series. in fact the first part just to released with tunes by phokus, neurosis orchestra, dj i.r. and istari lasterfahrer. phokus is actually well know throu his release on mg77 and represents hamburgs dubstep/grime posse which throws a monthly club session called next_lvl together with dj franky and mc mindfuck. on this release he gets deeper into grimy stepper dub tune called "da loot". neurosis orchestra is a trio from south london as they told, but the whole thing about this project is a mysterie. coming strong on this release with "2tone", darken monoton dub with a big lethargig melancholic move forward. flipside there is dj i.r. from leipzig, boss of the stoopid plastics record label and resident dubber and junglist at leipzigs true to the scen place zoro. dj i.r. delivers "dumpstep" the most smiling and experimental dub track on this. last track is by istari lasterfahrer following his path found on the dubcore volume four with "bang soundboy" - a quite scattered and twisted tune with fresh bass tecnics. Innasekt create their own unique definition of dubstep orientated beats. The two tracks on their debut 12inch on Sprengstoff Recordings show that they favour complex arrangements with dense atmospheres. Innasekt manage to produce hybrid structures combinding conflicting elements: the heat of heavy subbasses and the icy coldness of dusky rooms. This record explores the dark side of the dub reaching unknown dimensions. Side A 'Structure' has a melancholic mood. A dubby bass meets forward pushing beats with advanced drum edits. An mournful synthesizer pad with an extended feedback takes the listener to a room for contemplation. Finally an lfo driven, wobbling sound and wooden percussions with long reverbs complete the arrangement. Beautiful. The second side with the track 'Core' gets darker and ruffer. The main synthesizer line sends out a morse code signal. This is the last sign of human life in the city of the dead. Metallic samples like desperate screams resound through endless hallways. The fast and constantly changing bassline creates a nervous vibe that intensifies the feeling of being trapped in a zone of sorrow and pain with no hope to get out ever again. This is pure darkness for the dancefloor. Can this record be filed under 'Dubstep'? If Dubstep still means the attempt to experiment with new rhythms and push the sound constantly forward, then we suppose: yes. Some words on the artists. Innasekt are 2 fresh producers from Cambridge/ U.K.: Sneer and Sully. They already have a split e.p. out with Tes la rok on the swedish label Red Volume. More tracks are going to be released on Rottun Records from Canada. Innasekt are also part of the Harmitage Shanks sound system.

The very talented Belfast based musician composes a variety of leftfield styles such as Jungle, Dubstep, Electro(nica) and Acousmatic. Here he comes with a massive 4 tracker, laid back and chilled out but very energetic with it‘s rollin‘ breaks, good amounts of sub and a strong dubstep vibe on the flip side.

the 4th part of "we bomb fi dub" brings a new player into the dub pit. mr. boogie from potsdam hits with his "ghostship" into the dark stepping massive. he is supported by the notorious dub specialists phokus and the next in cooperation on "smoke ganja", wadadda with his easy "gimmi gimmi" and at least istari lasterfahrer with his crusty "agonie" tune.

this is the debut mini-album by dub1 from usa. he dropped one tune for the we bomb fi dub series. with this eight tracker he releases 6 dub tunes of melancholic harmonies and noised by the surface of time. two slightly distorted dub jungle tunes compliting this release which i am happy to have released. Starting the year out with a bit of hybrid action, LoDubs is pleased to announce the return of Bombaman of Toronto, Canada to the fold. As with his first release on the "Special Request" imprint a little over a year ago, (LoDubs-SR-1, Solvent "Think Like Us" 12") the styles touched upon are instantly relevant, yet a combination not yet seen within the construct of our sound. Taking its source material from a well known Synth/Disco/House Production/DJ Duo based in the same city as Bombaman, "Material" opens up the 12" with a mighty, shuffling piece of genius, which true to the sound is towed forward by a monstrous, oozing bassline. However, the backing rhythm and its stilted shuffling cacophany of drums may remind many of something more in the backyard of DJ Assault crossed with Herbert on a caffeinated day, rather than the 4 beat dubstep sound du jour. Purely out of its perfection as a pair, we have place yet another Syntonics remix on the Flip. "Rock Tonight" follows a more open drum signature, which allows for a high/low frequency interplay that when properly amplified almost seems to make the air wiggle in front of your face, like a hot day in arizona. Strangely enough, if you want to get much of the bass music coming out of Venezuela, you have to go to Japan, and the primary source once there would be Murder Channel, a long running club night, which has played host to artists as diverse as Melt Banana to Goth Trad, and also a label, based in Tokyo. Amongst the releases featuring Venezuelan artists, like the Cardopusher full length “Unity means power” came the Pacheko/DJ 100mado collab CD, which was released near the end of 2009. LoDubs, having a long running relationship with both the VZ and JP cultures, has taken up the charge to spread a bit of this material in the other hemisphere. “Figure 8” is the quintessential builder, with percussion quite stiff and pronounced, and bass weight to challenge any soundsystem, but the melody and rhythm married to these elements is remarkably light, full of interplay, and one could even say elegant, in a way all its own. “Trance 8” while not a complete departure, does give one an idea of where the anthemic sound of Dubstep could go in years to come. A almost overwhelming arpeggiated melody, with dry snares that play cadence to the progression, and a throbbing underbelly of sub that lets loose like an invisible wobble beneath it all. As others wanted to have their way with such striking elements, we have included two additional tracks on the CD, one featuring our old friend Cardopusher.
