Before making his name in industrial hardcore, Celsius was a jungle DJ and MC. Born and raised in Switzerland to an English family, he would spend every summer in the UK as a teenager, soaking up the emerging sounds of UK rave, collecting jungle and happy hardcore records, and recording mixtapes from UK pirate radio stations. This was 1992, the year zero for Celsius. Performing as DJ Celsius as early as 1993, he became one of Switzerland's first jungle DJs, playing and hosting mostly illegal raves in Lausanne – all before the age of 18. Turntablism and MCing soon followed. Celsius' earliest productions featured samples of old hardcore tapes from the UK and the Netherlands. Now, 30 years and several musical identities later, Celsius is circling back to his roots with 1992: a breakbeat rave concept album exploring the the genesis of hardcore, written with '90s analog recording equipment for that genuine time capsule experience. He spends his life swimming among different musical currents with temperatures and sound pressures that are incredibly different from one another. During the digital monsoon season, the Domestic Arapaima emits a cry that sounds violent and harmonious, halting and rhythmic, fluid and random. Domestic Arapaima’s sound blends hardcore and folk, ballroom dancing and heavy metal, EDM and prog, opera and jungle, all connected by a massive use of the Amen Break. "La Cuadra" is the first collection of songs by Domestic Arapaima.

LABEL INFO: Soreab debuts on Avian.Dario Picchi, whose repertoire includes forays into Dancehall, Bass Music and genres less easily classified, alongside a spate of intriguing collaborations, keeps things sparse on Sensitivity 6.0. The six track EP offers up idiosyncratic takes on IDM, Techno and Ambient music with a focus on intricate sound design, showcasing the Baroque Sunburst label head’s admirable versatility as a producer.Brazen opener Squirrel Stampede might surprise listeners expecting a more delicate approach from the EP title. Neatly layered and economic in its execution, it’s a forceful slice of modern Techno. Meditative follow up Trub marries a thick, undulating percussion line with a saccharine melody. Loose synths emerge sporadically from the sonic periphery, breaking up the rolling drum pattern to create a cinematic atmosphere. Closing out the A side is Giale Draws, an intriguing beatless piece with nods to both vintage Musique concrète and more contemporary compositions from the electronic music leftfield.On the B side, Soreab ups the tempo and goes fathoms deep with the cavernous Dust Eater. Landing somewhere between Autonomic Drum & Bass and Dub Techno, it sets the tone for the dense, atmospheric march of Insomnias that follows. Letting well-worked drums lead the recording, Picchi introduces Rhodes and a low-sunk synth flourish to create a crisp, hazy atmosphere. For this very reason of searching the limit of frequency and sound structure, we’ve decided to make this album as double 45 rpm vinyl, for a maximum aural experience, cut for vinyl by Frédéric Alstadt at Mont Analogue Masters. The turn of the millennium ushered in an apex visionary phase for English esoteric duo Coil. Relocating from the city to the coastal quiet of Weston-super-Mare freed them to follow even more fringe obsessions, fully untethered from peer influence. During a single six-month stretch in 2000 they released the devious underworld sequel to Music To Play In The Dark, arcane drone summit Queens Of The Circulating Library, and a malevolent hour-long synthesizer exorcism prophetically titled Constant Shallowness Leads To Evil. This latter work remains one of the group’s most miasmic and mind-expanding creations, on par with Time Machines – a sustained divination of shuddering, psychoactive noise, rippling with the motion sickness of an all-seeing eye. Thighpaulsandra characterizes the album as “an exercise in brutality,” born from a thorny patch of his Serge modular unit that Peter “Sleazy” Christopherson found entrancing. Processing this sliver of electronics into a ravaged labyrinth was a trial and error process, aided by Christopherson’s visual sense of sound, stretching and manipulating it for maximum spatial disorientating. Frequencies nauseously crawl across the stereo field, burrowing into the ear like a sinister brainwashing experiment. An outlier / centerpiece is the 13-minute alien tribalist sea shanty, “I Am The Green Child,” guided by John Balance’s sung-spoken free verse concerning vengeance, oblivion, and insanity, culminating in the memorable refrain, “We're swimming in a sea of occidental vomit.” But the rest of the record seethes in unhinged instrumental chaos, divided into 18 micro-movements of a composition called “Tunnel Of Goats.” Intended to scramble the functionality of a CD player’s shuffle mode, the piece throbs, thrashes, and flatlines in compressed frenzies of twisted synthesis, at the threshold of some bottomless purgatory, forbidding and unknown.

Bruits de Fond, Cheap Satanism Records, Mont Analogue team up to release this new album by Ripit! Ripit is back with a new LP after 3 years spent mostly on the mesmerizing collaboration between The Ångströmers - his duo with Frédéric Alstadt - and the Haitian voodoo ensemble Chouk Bwa. While Ripit is better known for his radical noisy breakbeat work, "A church or a factory" explores a more industrial, power electronic and noise ambient side of his synthesizer lust. The instruments abused on this record are: Serge Modular, Knifonium and various Eurorack modular. The A-side comes with 5 powerful synthetic industrial songs which feature each one a different guest vocalist. The B-side is a long ambient noise piece that will plunge the listener in an anxious meditation. Ripit is the project of the French Nicolas Esterle for almost 25 years. He explores electronic instruments thru distortion , ranging from industrial hardcore to breakcore, from doom hiphop to dusty dub. Beside his solo project, he's involved in various bands like Solar Skeletons (with Tzii), Fujako (with HHY) and more recently The Ångströmers. On the guest side, there's a wild bunch of Nicolas' friends : - Paul-tergeist is the galactic moniker of Paul Beauchamp in his band Space Aliens From Outer Space. - Andrea EV is the lead member of 1997EV. - Robert Imhuman & Divtech are members of the Realicide Collective. - Tzii is a long-time road comrade of Nicolas and a touring freak spreading his music all over the world. - André Coelho is known as Metadevice and is the founder of the now-defunct Sektor 304. The title "A Church or a factory" refers to the Belgian countryside, wherever you are, you are at least surrounded by a church or a factory. Mécanosphère (Portugal / France /...) Mécanosphère is a transnational morphing line-up art & life project formed by Benjamin Brejon (drums / instrument circuit / lyrics) and Adolfo Luxúria Canibal (vocals / lyrics) at the turn of the year 00's. Mécanosphère's language is: dubbed sonic, cinematic soundscapes with a polyglot text. Informed by Radio broadcasts, science-fiction literature, war reports, ruins of hiphop, ghosts of jazz, echoes of sound poetry, collage art, rock and roll, and parallel noise. The 2003 self-titled debut album is a straightforward rough, low fi rhythms-bass-voice manifesto. Mécanosphère acts like the seminal installation of the group’s obsessive, recurrent, set of sound and images which the other records explore more carefully by facets. For the 20th anniversary of their inception, which is the first part of a tryptich, Skin And Speech decided to release the first vinyl version of this undiscovered gem. 180 grams heavy and re-mastered by Alex Buess.
